Nevada
In 2004, Measured Progress was selected to partner with the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) to assist with the Nevada Proficiency Examination Program (NPEP). It is a privilege to collaborate with Nevada whose vision is "Quality Education for All."
Measured Progress is responsible for the Criterion-Referenced Test and High School Proficiency Examination:
- The Criterion-Referenced Test (CRT) is administered to students in grades 3 through 8 to assess their proficiency in reading, mathematics, and science.
- The High School Proficiency Examination (HSPE) is administered to students in grade 10 to assess their proficiency in reading, mathematics, and science. All students must pass the HSPE in order to graduate. A retest is available, if necessary, to students in grades 11 and 12 and to students in adult education programs.
The CRT and HSPE also assess writing proficiency of students in certain grades. The Nevada Department of Education is responsible for this assessment.
For more information about the CRT and the HSPE, go to the Nevada Department of Education Web site at www.doe.nv.gov and select "Assessment."
