Florida Alternate Assessment
The Florida Department of Education and Measured Progress have developed an alternate assessment for students with significant cognitive disabilities. Approximately 25,000 students take the Florida Alternate Assessment in the spring of each year. The assessment consists of test items in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 10, writing in grades 4, 8, and 10, and science in grades 5, 8, and 11.
